Club Calypso - u17 Trials

Since our inception, Calypso has always sought to provide fun and engaging cricket experiences for junior cricketers in the Kent area. We’re now set to go one step further, with the creation of our own franchise. What is Club Calypso? Club Calypso is a junior representative team that provides an innovative coaching programme throughout the winter and summer to players aged u10-u17, before then competing against a variety of sides in the summer. Calypso have been running both the Central Cavaliers district side since 2022, and the Southern Spartans district side since 2025. Now Calypso are combining both teams into one franchise side, ready to take on districts, academies and clubs across Kent and beyond. How will this work? Three Phases: - Phase 1 - Trial Phase (Sep-Dec) - 8 session programme open to all before squads are selected in December - Phase 2 - Pre-Season (Jan-Mar) - 8 session winter programme in their squads - Phase 3 - The Season (Apr-Aug) - 8 session summer training programme alongside a variety of fixtures for all age groups. Not only will Club Calypso players compete against other franchises across Kent, they will also earn priority invitations to be a part of Calypso tours both domestic and across the world, from Taunton to Tobago! Phase 1 - Trial Phase: The first phase will include a trial phase open to all. The provisional session details are below: 1. Square Practice - Sun 13th Sep - 12:00 - 3:30pm @Mersham Sports Club 2. Net Battle Before - Wed 30th Sep - 6:30pm - 8:00pm @Sutton Valence School 3. Under the Lights - Friday 2nd Oct - 6:30pm - 8:00pm @Marden Cricket and Hockey Club 4. Batting Focus - Wed 14th Oct - 6:30pm - 8:00pm @Sutton Valence School 5. Bowling Focus - Wed 4th Nov - 6:30pm - 8:00pm @Sutton Valence School 6. Test Match Skills - Wed 18th Nov - 6:30pm - 8:00pm @Sutton Valence School 7. T20 Skills - Wed 2nd Dec - 6:30pm - 8:00pm @Sutton Valence School 8. Net Battle After - Wed 16th Dec - 6:30pm - 8:00pm @Sutton Valence School Note, the Calypso coaches understand that winter sports take priority, and as a result are flexible for which day your son/daughter attends. If another session is more preferable, Calypso coaches can accommodate for that. We can't wait to get this going!
